Acumen CL10 Electronic Chain Oiler
This new accessory from Acumen Electronics in the UK is
the ultimate chain maintenance solution!
Nowadays motorcycle chains are very expensive to replace, so regular
oiling is essential to minimize wear - you can extend chain life by over
8X by ensuring your chain is properly lubricated.
Hi-tech electronics regulate a small jet of oil that is directed straight
onto the chain, at regular intervals, which are dependant on how fast you
are riding and the flow rate set in the display. This means that
over-oiling and mess is eliminated. So no more drip, drip or mess
you can experience with gravity chain oiling systems - or oil puddles when
you are waiting at traffic lights, etc.
Refilling is also a breeze, as you simply screw in a new pressurized
canister (no solvents or gases) and you are ready to go! You can
carry a couple of refills with no worries of leaking! Most riders
get about 700 miles out of a canister.
Installation is easy, and you can position the unit behind a side panel or
under the seat for a clean look.
A cockpit display/control unit allows you to adjust the
oiling rate, and also auto-dims at night.
Will it fit my bike?
As the oil feed is triggered by the speedo pulses, you need to have
electronic speedo (this is one that does not have a mechanical
speedo cable with an inner rotating core). Practically all bikes
made in the last 10 years have electronic speedos.
What is included?
The kit comes complete with everything you need to install it. You
need to locate power, ground and speed pulse wires on your bike to connect
the unit. The
Acumen Web Site has connection info. Also, 2 oil canisters are
included in the kit.
Note: The picture on the box shows the CL10 with
the optional billet alloy housing that costs $45 and is available by
special order only. |
